Interpersonal Forgiveness and Meaning in Life in Older Adults: The Mediating and Moderating Roles of the Religious Meaning System

Forgiving others may play an important role in achieving meaning life as it offers a valuable platform for deliberate moral acts of acceptance positive affect, behaviour, and cognition towards transgressor. The aim this paper was to analyse the relationship between forgiveness presence, search life, well mediating religious system among older adults. A total 205 adults, 112 women 93 men, participated study. mean age 72.59. Transgression-Related Interpersonal Motivations Scale, Meaning Life Questionnaire, Religious System Questionnaire were employed research; revenge avoidance revealed negative correlations with whereas benevolence showed correlations, but not life. confirmed mediator relationships (revenge, avoidance, benevolence) both presence meaning. findings point significant played by beliefs behaviour domain purpose goals.
